Liberals, Emotion, and Obama’s Appeasement of America’s Enemies

Welcome to the upside down world that Barack Obama, political correctness, and the American liberal have given us.

It’s an ugly, twisted place.  Impossible to turn back from.   And three years of profound stupidity and denial have led us here.

Of course, the journey towards this twilight zone of deadly appeasement  - in particular the Middle Eastern mess we’re stuck in now – started long before our forty-fourth President Hoped and Changed his way into the Oval Office.  In fact, the first steps were taken way back in the early 1990s when the two most noxious letters ever to be linked together “PC” hit the mainstream to muddy up the waters of clear thinking and honest expression.  An intentionally vague term, political correctness took hold as a deceptively divisive cancer designed to keep certain people quiet while allowing others to behave as ignorantly and as dangerously as they wanted to.

These were also known as the Clinton years.

However, during these years, and up until 2008, political correctness had been a slow burn.  The mainstream media, entertainment industry, and of course, the bed wetters of academia, had done their best to neuter our society with the sort of feel good guilt that made affluent liberals smile and the silent majority bite their lower lip.

It was stifling, annoying, and detrimental.  But not yet overwhelming.

The appointment of a professional rabble rouser to the nation’s highest office changed all that.

Obama not only accelerated the ticking of the p.c. time bomb, he set it into overdrive. The phony sensitivities  and destructive fantasies of an emasculated America became official foreign policy and political correctness reached an all new perverted height.

Now, at this point, I’m not going to call Obama anti-American.  It’s redundant.  And we already know the truth about his well vaunted intellect.  Our president is not smart.  Not in any sense that is relevant to leading a successful America.  And while comparisons of the President to the world’s past and present tyrants have rock solid validity, they don’t adequately describe what the man really is.  We can call him a socialist, a communist, a Muslim, an Alynsky radical, a Marxist…et, but they are just terms that describe his influences, words that help create an abstract picture of what could be going on in the man’s head.

There are plenty of people like that running around this country and this world.

But there is something that defines Obama.  One thing which makes him historically unique.  The President excels, better than any other Democrat before him – including Bill Clinton -, at telling the  liberal mob exactly what they want to hear.  And when you strip away all the political labels and ideologies we attribute to Obama, we’re left with what the essence of our forty-fourth President truly is.

In fairness, Bill set the stage for Barack.  Clinton’s reign was  all about artificial feel-your-pain guilt and American shame.  A tragic contrast to the Reagan years, this was the real “me decade.”  A time period of unabashed self-involvement.  Every perceived personal slight and grievance being obsessed over and catered to by liberal entities (the music and television industries were especially notorious for this) in order to exploit the nation’s new found misanthropy.  It was during this time that we ceased being Americans and devolved into a nation of special interest groups; groups obsessed with seeing themselves as victims while battling each other for the award of ‘America’s Most Perpetually Outraged’.

Eight years later this would become the heart of Obama’s voting base.

And with the forty-fourth President, these “victims” got everything they ever dreamed of – and probably a little bit more.

Of course, the ironic thing about the President’s relationship with liberals is that it took someone as frigid and devoid of human attachment as Obama to become the unquestioned king of America’s most irrationally emotional people.  Barack may be a smarmy robot who doesn’t understand the world,  but he sure as hell understands liberalism.  Most importantly, Obama knows that liberals would rather embrace our nation’s enemies than our nation itself and the President set the tone for keeping his voters happy by embracing the myth that a weaker America is a safer America.  Thus, he began his presidency with the apology tour, kissing the rings of various world tyrants and giving his liberal worshipers the groveling sensation they crave.

It was all down hill from there.

Obama all but shouted through a megaphone his anti-American beliefs with his contradictory treatment of the unrest in Egypt and Iran.  Two totalitarian countries with one major distinction.  Egypt was, at the time, an ally of America.  Iran was, and still is, the the sworn enemy of Western civilization, Israel, and the world’s leading exporter of terrorism.

Do you think American liberals understood – or cared about – this distinction?

The President apparently didn’t think so either.  And his actions with regards to the two nations tells us all we need to know.

By failing to support the Green Revolution in Iran – which sought to oust anti-American, anti-semite, anti-Israel, and Nazi sympathizer, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from office -, the President effectively backed the ayatollahs that sought the nukes to attack Israel.  A mind boggling decision.  And one which has brought us to being possible weeks or days away from a nuclear Iran.  Liberals of course barely raised an eyebrow at this and were equally immune to seeing anything strange about Obama’s shockingly contradictory treatment of Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak, who was the Middle East’s number one fighter of the Muslim Brotherhood for thirty years, was thrown under the bus by Obama when our President told the Egyptian military not to prevent the Brotherhood from taking power.  Mubarak was ousted, sentenced to life imprisonment, and the Muslim Brotherhood is now running the show.

Very scary, right?

Well, it gets worse.

Obama then leads from behind in the attack on Libya.  Bypassing congress in a purely political move which may have rid the world of Momar Kadahfi but laid the blood red carpet out for the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda to take the country over. What’s most insidious is that we helped these groups get control knowing that the rebels seeking to overthrow Kadahfi consisted primarily of members of the Brotherhood and A.Q.. Whether or not liberals paid attention to any of this I don’t know, but if they did, they would have appreciated Obama’s appeasement to the murderous thugs.  An appeasement we were rewarded with this past September 11 by the coordinated attacks of the Brotherhood and Al Qaeda on our embassies in Cairo and Libya.

And what was the President’s response to the attacks and slaughter of innocent Americans?

More appeasement.

Blaming a microscopic film for the attacks is the type of impossibly lame response we would get from a White House this spineless.  Even lamer is that it’s an excuse that liberals could nod their heads to and say ‘Oh, that’s why they did it!  That makes sense!’  A much easier method of coping than trying to wrap their minds around the honest reality of why the rampaging took place.

Do Americans riot and kill over the lousy movies that come out of this town?

Amazingly, it gets worse.  There is another, even more vile form of appeasement. The stealthy pandering to the slow, but persistently growing, influence of Sharia Law in this country.  Europe already tried this and failed miserably.  Obama either doesn’t know this – which I don’t believe for a second – or doesn’t care – this I absolutely believe – .  His arrogance as a messianic snake oil salesman would never allow him to think that he wouldn’t just be able to placate the Muslim world with his usual smirk and quips.

Again, this all sits perfectly well with liberals.  Like their European leftist counterparts, American liberals envision Islam as exotic.  Something that only elite, open minds can understand.  Multiculturalism was born out of this.   And as usual with liberals, you can choke on the irony.  The champions of tolerance  lecturing us about Islamophobia while supporting the most violently intolerant people on the planet.  As my buddy Marc always says, you can’t make this stuff up.

Outside of this psychological, co-dependent mess between the groveling American Left and Islam’s radicals is the simple fact that beyond his nefarious motives, Obama probably has no idea what he’s doing.  Obama went around congress, attacked Libya, and Libya thought they were at war with us – this is why we have rules and a constitution.  Not comprehending this, Obama then failed to defend our embassies despite knowing of a 9-11 threat and acted like he was talking about some distant golf match when addressing the attacks.   With a re-election coming up, there’s no way – even someone as shady as the President – would want Americans to be slaughtered as the Middle East devolved into deranged chaos.

But appeasement and liberalism have always gone hand in hand.  I keep thinking about the Cold War.  Liberals snickered at Reagan’s battle against the Soviet threat just as they do to those concerned about Islam’s imperialistic menace.  Reagan wasn’t interested in tolerating our enemies and he understood that what life might be like today in America could turn into something drastically different tomorrow if we didn’t take threats to freedom seriously.

Liberals, of course, don’t get this.

What they do get though is how cool our current President is for snubbing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu (when he wished to meet about the impending doom all of this madness could bring onto Israel) so he could instead hang out with rap music mogul, Jay-Z.  Liberals love this kind of stuff.  And whether it’s sucking up to celebrities or kneeling to our enemies, it’s all one form of appeasement or another.

There is a catch though for playing this phony game.  When you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody.

And Obama’s shenanigans are rapidly catching up with him.

A fact that liberals will have to accept when our less easily flattered majority votes the President out of office this coming November.
